AT THE HISTORIC SASH MILL — SANTA CRUZ

Opening December 2026

MOVEMENT - PRACTICE - COMMUNITY

We’re opening the doors to a new yoga studio in Santa Cruz’s historic Sash Mill, and there’s a mat with your name on it. You don’t need to touch your toes. Show up as you are. Every body and every level is welcome.

You belong here.

— THE SPACE —

We’ve been dreaming of a place

Sunlight pours through the big mill windows. The wood floors are warm underfoot. It feels good to walk in, and we hope it feels even better to walk out.

Our classes are built on how bodies actually move. We build strength and mobility, and we make time to breathe and be still. Some days we push a little. Other days we slow way down. Either way, we pay attention.

Over time familiar faces become friends, and conversations tend to spill out the door after class.

We hope The Mill becomes a home away from home for you. And that you leave each class feeling a little lighter and more centered than when you came in.

Come gather with us.

Movement for real life

WELL MADE CLASSES FOR REAL BODIES

Full CLASS SCHEDULE coming soon.

We teach accessible, intelligent, and refreshingly no-nonsense classes that welcome people from every background. Our teachers explain the reasons behind what they ask of you, are grounded in movement science, and have studied yoga’s philosophy seriously enough to teach it honestly.

Our Story

Two women smiling outdoors, one with short dark hair and tattoos on her arm, and the other with long wavy blonde hair in front of a floral background, both wearing black tank tops.

Valerie Moselle and Brinn Rawles, co-founders of The Mill Yoga

If you remember Luma Yoga, you might remember us, too. One of us was an owner, and the other a longtime student. We both loved that studio, and like so many of you, we’ve missed it since it closed during the pandemic.

Our connection goes back many years, through countless classes, workshops and trainings. We’ve raised families, navigated life’s tides, practiced and learned together, and eventually led retreats and taught together.

We share a deep love for the practice, for teaching, and for the community that grows around it. The Mill feels like the next chapter, one we are excited to be building together.

HEARTWOOD MEMBERSHIP

This mill once shaped redwood from the Santa Cruz Mountains. Heartwood is the living tree’s oldest core. It holds every year of the tree’s history in its rings and gives the tree its strength. Our first members are the heart of what we’re growing together.

Form the first ring with us. Sign up as a Heartwood member before December 12 to receive the best rate we’ll ever offer. The presale opens soon, and spots are limited. Join the waitlist to be first in line. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
